ALOR SETAR : Kedah Mentri Besar Datuk Seri Ahmad Bashah Md Hanipah has been rushed to Kedah Medical Centre (KMC) after feeling dizzy on Saturday evening.

Kedah Police Chief  Datuk Zamri Yahya, when met at the hospital, confirmed that the mentri besar was currently receiving treatment there.

However, he said Ahmad Bashah did not faint or fall down.

“He only complained of dizziness and was rushed to the hospital for a check-up. He has been warded to enable him to rest,” he said.

Zamri speculated that Ahmad Bashah was tired due to his heavy workload.

Ahmad Bashah was attending a meeting for the Kedah Umno team that will be sent to help with the Kuala Kangsar by-election.

The team is set to leave on Saturday night.

It was reported earlier that Ahmad Bashah had fainted, with a source saying that he was brought to KMC at about 7.30pm.

“He arrived at KMC at about 7.30pm, and he had attended the meeting at the Grand Alora Hotel at about 7pm,” said the source.
