A WOMAN has claimed that the Teluk Intan welfare department rejected her husband’s disability application with no explanation, Makkal Osai reported.

K. Veni, 30, said her husband fell very sick recently and was admitted to the Ampang General Hospital.

The doctors said R. Hemakumar, 30, had contracted a viral infection and issued a letter saying he would be unable to work because of this, the wife said.

The family had to move in with his parents with their three schoolgoing children temporarily as he was unable to eat, walk or work.

Since they had no income to support their children, the couple approached the welfare department.

But Veni claimed that to their dismay, their application was rejected with no explanation given.

They then sought help from the MyPPP women’s division which said that it would look into their case.
