Couple charged with possession of homemade bombs at Damansara Perdana

PETALING JAYA: A husband and wife were charged in the Sessions Court here Wednesday with illegal possession of three homemade bombs in a condominium at Damansara Perdana.

Ng Woon Chieh, 38, and Chow How Luen, 40, claimed trial to committing the offence in the condominium at Metropolitan Square, Jalan PJU 8/1, Damansara Perdana here at 6am on April 17.

The charge under Section 8 of the Firearms (Increased Penalties) Act 1971 read with Section 34 of the Penal Code carries imprisonment of up to 14 years and caning of not less than six strokes upon conviction.

Judge Azhaniz Teh Azman Teh did not grant bail and set July 1 for remention.

Deputy public prosecutor Shafiq Hasim appeared for the prosecution while the two accused who are online traders were represented by counsel Naizatul Zamrina Karizaman. - Bernama
