KUCHING: Sarawak’s first ever fig garden was launched here with the aim to grow the fruit trees to feed birds, including the state’s mascot, the hornbill.

The garden was created out of a 7.2ha degraded patch of forest within the Kubah National Park and Matang Wildlife Centre boundary, just 25km from the city centre.
