KUALA LUMPUR: People living in strata-titled properties around the capital can take advantage of the 'I Love My Strata' campaign being conducted at public housing projects (PPR) starting today to resolve housing problems.
Federal Territories Minister Datuk Seri Tengku Adnan Tengku Mansor said the campaign carried out by the government in collaboration with Syarikat Skyworld will benefit about 1.2 million residents involving 40 PPR and 5,000 strata development including apartments and condominiums around the capital.
The campaign to be carried out for one and a half years, comprises three phases, the first phase involves the PPR and low-cost apartments, the second phase of medium cost apartments, while the third phase involves luxury condominiums.
"Through the campaign, PPR committees, residents associations and the management of private apartments will cooperate with the government in fostering strata community awareness with emphasis on cleanliness, surveillance to monitor vandalism and of public property in the PPR area.
"In addition, it can also improve the quality of living standards and social relationships among residents by emphasising on simple values," he said when opening the Mind Transformation Campaign 'I Love My Strata' in Cheras here Saturday.
Tengku Adnan said the Commissioner of Buildings Division, Dewan Bandaraya Kuala Lumpur and Skyworld representatives will monitor the PPR areas involved in the campaign from time to time to ensure the smooth running of the campaign.
"A portal and Facebook site will also be created to provide an update on the campaign and a booklet will also be distributed to residents as a guideline in creating a cheerful and harmonious community," he said.
Syarikat Skyworld group managing director Datuk Ng Thien Phing said the company had contributed RM3mil as corporate social responsibility (CSR) for the success of the campaign. – Bernama
