‘Three-term tenure agreed upon’

GEORGE TOWN: The hot issue to limit the Penang Chief Minister’s tenure has taken a new twist with maverick DAP assemblyman Teh Yee Cheu now claiming that DAP candidates had “pledged” to set it at three terms during GE 2008.

Yesterday, Teh showed the press a photocopy of a draft where 23 of the Penang DAP state and parliamentary candidates had allegedly made the pledge at the Esplanade on March 6, 2008, two days before the general election.
