Restoring Rulers’ powers up to Govt, says Dr Mahathir


PETALING JAYA: Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad has remained coy on suggestions to restore the power of the monarchy, which he was responsible for curbing during his tenure as prime minister.

Responding to calls from Johor Ruler Sultan Ibrahim Ibni Almarhum Sultan Iskandar to rectify the amendments, which had reduced the Rulers’ immunity, Dr Mahathir said it was entirely up to the Federal Government.
