GEORGE TOWN: Two men believed to be pimps, aged 67 and 72, and four Indonesian women were rounded up in a police raid at a hotel in Kampung Deli, off Lorong Maca-lister.
The women, aged between 18 and 32, were said to be offering sexual services when the 5pm operation codenamed Ops Noda started on Tuesday.
A police team from the Anti-Vice, Gaming and Secret Societies Division also detained three Nepali men said to be customers.
George Town OCPD Asst Comm Mior Faridalathrash Wahid said police seized logbooks, lubricants and 60 condoms during the raid.
He said the case would be investigated under Section 372 (A) of the Penal Code for living off the immoral earnings of the women, Section 372(B) of the same Act for soliciting for prostitution and Rule 39 (b) Immigration Act 1963 for working without a proper permit.
