DUNGUN: Conservationists want authorities to carry out more enforcement to protect the turtles in Terengganu, saying that the animal played an important socio-economic role in the state.
“In Terengganu, we see replicas and images of turtles everywhere – at the roundabouts, on billboards and in many hotels but not enough has been done to take care of these creatures,” said Hayati Mokhtar of Lang Tengah Turtle Watch, which has a hatchery on Lang Tengah Island.
