Residents in Taman Setia, Klang want a solution to the problems caused by an abandoned apartment project next to their homes, Malaysia Nanban reported.

The six-storey apartment complex project was abandoned 12 years ago and since then, thieves have stripped the building bare.

The resident say they cannot leave their homes at night due to the frequent movement of drug addicts and other unwanted people.

Klang MP Charles Santiago, who visited the abandoned apartment blocks, said he would arrange a meeting with the council and state authorities to discuss the problem.

> A woman was brutally murdered in her home in Tamil Nadu, India, by a stranger who came asking for a glass of water, the daily also reported.

A man approached her house and asked for a glass water, and the woman’s two children went into the next room to get some water.

The man then reportedly barged into the kitchen and slashed the mother’s throat and escaped.

Police are investigating the motive behind the murder.
