PETALING JAYA: When director Shamsuddin Othman announced his plan to stage a theatre performance atop a tree, his friends thought he had gone mad or was doomed to fail.

But the gamble paid off when his Teater Atas Pokok performance was recognised by the Malaysia Book of Records as the “First Theatre Performance on a Tree Top”.
