Man detained over comments insulting Islam


IPOH: Police have arrested a man for allegedly posting comments that insulted Islam on social media.

State police chief Datuk Seri Abd Rahim Hanafi (pic) said the 38-year-old man, who is from Kuala Kangsar, was arrested in Kamunting, Taiping on Thursday.

"Three mobile phones and a blue pouch were seized from the suspect.

"He is being investigated for sedition under Section 4 (1) and Section 233 under Multimedia and Communication Act," he added.
