GEORGE TOWN: The fire which destroyed seven decommissioned Rapid Penang buses was ignited by sparks from metal cutting works at the Nibong Tebal depot.
Rapid Penang chief operating officer Mej (Rtd) Mohd Shukri Abdul Rahman said a worker who had just dismantled parts of the scrap buses with a cutting torch saw smoke billowing from one of the buses.
