GEORGE TOWN: A senior female police officer, sentenced to three-and-a-half-years in jail by a magistrate’s court for releasing an alleged serial Casanova swindler, has been granted a stay of execution.
High Court Judicial Commissioner Datuk Azmi Ariffin yesterday allowed the application by Asst Supt L. Chandkumary’s (pic) counsel Dr N. Ahilan, pending the hearing of an appeal proper at the High Court.
