Malaysia may export controlled items to Thailand

NARATHIWAT: The Domestic Trade, Cooperatives and Consu­me­rism Ministry plans to sell controlled items in Malaysia to the Thai market to curb smuggling activities, said its Minister Datuk Seri Hamzah Zainuddin.

He said over the years, a wide range of subsidised goods such as cooking oil and flour from Malaysia were smuggled and sold widely in Thailand, especially in Sungai Golok.
