May 27 to hear merits of CEO’s lawsuit


KUALA LUMPUR: A High Court has set May 27 to hear the merits of a lawsuit by a chief executive officer who is seeking protection as a whistleblo­wer for allegedly exposing the financial improprieties of his colleagues.

Dr Syed Omar Syed Agil, 56, was appointed the CEO of Institut Profesional Baitulmal Sdn Bhd, which is 70% owned by the Federal Territories Islamic Religious Council, on Sept 1, 2014. The company runs a private college under the same name.
