Images showing Rafizi walking and looking like he was handcuffed

PETALING JAYA: Inspector General of Police Tan Sri Khalid Abu Bakar confirmed that Pandan MP Rafizi Ramli was not handcuffed for the entire duration that he was detained.

“Stop the accusations,” Khalid said via his official twitter account @KBAB51 on Thursday.

Khalid was commenting on social media comments that expressed sympathy for Rafizi, also PKR vice-president, when images of him arriving in court with his hands “handcuffed” behind his back on Thursday morning.

Rafizi was smiling broadly as he walked with both his hands behind his back as though he was handcuffed as several police personnel escorted him from the vehicle to the court room.

Rafizi was arrested in front of the Parliament's gate at about 6.20pm on Tuesday for investigations under the Official Secrets Act (OSA) over claims he made against the Armed Forces Fund Board (LTAT).

He was held overnight in a police lockup and taken to the magistrate's court in Putrajaya where he was put under remand until Friday.
