Najib welcomes Maldives President Abdulla Yameen

PUTRAJAYA: Malaysia rolls out the red carpet to welcome visiting Maldives President Abdulla Yameen Abdul Gayoom.

Abdulla Yameen, who is on a two-day visit, was given an official welcoming ceremony at Dataran Perdana at Perdana Putra complex on Tuesday.

Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak and Datin Seri Rosmah Mansor received the Maldives President and his wife Fathimath Ibrahim.

Abdulla Yameen inspected the guard of honour comprising 106 officers and personnel from the First Royal Malay Regiment before being introduced to members of the Malaysian Cabinet and diplomatic corps.

The two leaders later held a meeting for an hour.
