Dr M: I met Ku Li over no confidence vote against Najib

PUTRAJAYA: Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad claimed that he met with Gua Musang MP Tengku Razaleigh Hamzah (pic) to discuss a vote of no confidence against Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak.

Meeting reporters attending a symposium on criminalising war at the Perdana Leadership Foundation, the former premier also claimed Tengku Razaleigh told him to go to Sarawak to campaign against Najib.

Dr Mahathir was commenting on the Kelantan Declaration recently signed by Tengku Razaleigh and other Barisan Nasional representatives in the state to affirm their undivided support for Najib.

The former premier said it was the Gua Musang MP's right to support whomever he wanted, adding that he did not feel betrayed by his one-time Umno rival.

"I have been betrayed by him many times. When he lost the party elections, he sued the party and took it took court to declare it illegal.

"I had to spend time to rebuild the party, which he didn't join. He formed Semangat 46, so from a person like that, what did you expect," he added.

Dr Mahathir recently joined forces with the Opposition in initiating a Citizens’ Declaration against Najib seeking his removal.

Attempts by journalists to get a response from Tengku Razaleigh on the allegation made by Dr Mahathir were unsuccessful as of 4.50pm.
