KUALA LUMPUR: Single mother ‘Ranee’ was just looking to be part of a family again, for her seven-year-old son to have a father in his life - but instead she was swindled out of over RM23,000.

She was hoodwinked by a man claiming to be a 50-year-old widower on a matrimonial site, who charmed her over the course of several months.
