KUALA LUMPUR: Police are investigating Phang Li Koon (pic) for allegedly making a false statutory declaration (SD), said Tan Sri Khalid Abu Bakar.

A police report has been lodged against Phang, the Inspector-General of Police said at a press conference after the 209th Police Day celebration here on Friday.

Phang was the owner of the Jalan Pinhorn, George Town, house that she sold to Penang Chief Minister Lim Guan Eng.

The businesswoman had made an SD explaining why she sold the house to Lim for RM2.8mil.

She said she did not survey the market at the time of sale because she “didn’t think it was necessary”.
