BUKIT MERTAJAM: Thousands of fishes died after water in a pond was pumped out by a housing developer for upgrad-ing works in Bandar Perda here.

The dead fishes comprising mostly the Pleco (suckermouth catfish) and Tilapia breeds lay in shallow sections of the algae-filled pond and emitted a stench as they decomposed under the hot sun.
