Raging fire destroys 11 homes in Kg Mesra Simunul


KOTA KINABALU: Some 80 people were left homeless after an evening fire destroyed over 11 wooden houses at Kg Mesra in Simunul, Semporna on Monday.

The victims managed to flee to safety when the fire, which was believed to have started from one of the houses, swept through their homes.

Semporna district officer Dr Chacho Bulah said the fire started at about 3.30pm Monday.

"Those affected by the fire have gone to their friends and relatives' place to stay for the time being," he said.
