Seven cops in Butterworth charged with bribery


BUTTERWORTH: Seven policemen have claimed trial to charges of bribery involving a total of RM17,000.

In the first charge, ASP Muharisnizam Abas, 41, Insp Mohd Edzrin Ferdini Mansor,29, Kpl Low Guo Tzong, 31, Sjn Harun Ahmad, 54, L/Kpl Mohammad Amirul Akmal Mohamad Khir, 25 and L/Korp Muhammad Azwan Mohd Azahari, 24 were accused of having tried to obtain RM10,000 bribe from a man on Jan 13 last year, between 5.40pm to 7pm at Lorong Belatuk 6, Taman Belatuk at Nibong Tebal.
