PUTRAJAYA: The Health Ministry has banned the import of Manuka Honey with immediate effect following the withdrawal of the product in New Zealand as it may contain prohibited substances.
Director-general Datuk Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah (pic) said the product manufactured by Evergreen Life Limited in New Zealand was withdrawn as it may contain dihydroxyacetone and methylglyoxal used in its processes.
