Rohani: Malaysia opposed to child marriage

KUALA LUMPUR: Malaysia is guided by the principle of "developing the full potential of the child" and discourages child marriage.

Women, Family and Community Development Minister Datuk Seri Rohani Abdul Karim however said that sometimes the authorities’ hands are tied because both parties would give their consent towards the marriage of a child below the age of 16.
