JOHOR BARU: A small-time catering business owner was cheated of RM97,000 in life savings and jewellery when she unknowingly agreed to be the broker in a land deal.
The woman, who only wanted to be known as Ramlah, 60, claimed she was “put under a spell” when discussions for the land deal were made at a fast food outlet in Aeon Tebrau shopping mall here on Jan 26 as she agreed to everything without realising what she was doing.
