Amar Singh appointed as next city police chief Police name list of appointments

KUALA LUMPUR: Deputy Comm Datuk Amar Singh will be the next city police chief, says Bukit Aman.

IGP secretariat corporate communications chief Datin Asmawati Ahmad said DCP Amar, who was Federal CID deputy director (investigation/law), would take over the position from Comm Datuk Tajuddin Md Isa.

The latter will be transferred to the Federal Commercial Crime Investigation Department as the deputy director.

Federal Special Branch deputy director (E1) Deputy Comm Datuk Mohd Sofian Md Makinuddin will be promoted to the rank of Commissioner while holding his current position.

Federal Special Branch deputy director (1) Deputy Comm Mohd Haniff Hanuddin will also be promoted to the rank of Commissioner while still holding his current position.

City deputy police chief Deputy Comm Datuk Law Hong Soon takes over DCP Amar’s previous position as the Federal CID deputy director (investigation/law).

Federal Reserve Unit Commander (Federal Internal Security and Public Order) SAC Datuk Abdul Hamid Mohd Ali will take over as the city deputy police chief with the rank of Deputy Commissioner.

Pahang special branch chief SAC Datuk Riduan Hashim is to be transferred as the Federal special branch principal assistant director with the rank of Deputy Commissioner.

Subang Jaya OCPD Asst Comm Yahaya Ramli will be made Crime Prevention and Community Safety department chief with the rank of SAC.

Kedah CID chief Asst Comm Mohd Nashir Ya will be promoted to the rank of SAC.

“Federal CID secretariat principal asst director Asst Comm K. Manoharan will also be promoted to the rank of SAC,” said Asmawati, adding that Hilir Perak OCPD Asst Comm Mohd Shuhaily Mohd Zain will be promoted as the Pahang special branch department chief with the rank of SAC.
