KUALA LUMPUR: Malaysia’s diving star Pandelela Rinong, 23, is up against three other Asean athletes in this year’s Nickelodeon Kid’s Choice Awards.
Pandelela Rinong was nominated under the Favourite Asian Sports Star category and is up against Irfan Fandi from Singapore, Kim Kurniawan (Indonesia) and Jeron Teng (Philippines).
Pandelela is the first Malaysian to qualify for the Rio de Janeiro Olympics in Brazil and will be representing Malaysia in the indivi–dual diving category.
She is also the first Malaysian female to win an Olympics medal with her third placing in the Women’s 10m platform at the 2012 Summer Olympics in London.
The winners are determined through online voting, which can be done as many times as you want on their website kca.nick-asia.com/vote.
