Deport illegal workers before bringing in Bangladeshis, Govt urged

Manufacturers do not want the entry of such a large number of Bangladeshi workers to add to the problem of illegal foreign workers in the country.

PETALING JAYA: The Government should deport the 4.6 million undocumented foreign workers in the country before bringing in the 1.5 million workers from Bangladesh, said a non-governmental organisation.

The Small and Medium Business Enterprise Alliance (Ikhlas) has questioned the Government’s rationale in bringing in more foreign workers, claiming that a lot of social and economic problems had cropped up because of immigrants.
