KUANTAN: A Singaporean man drowned in Sungai Kuala Luis, Kuala Lipis when he was swept by strong currents in the river during an expedition to Gunung Tahan last Saturday.
Lipis district police chief Supt Abdul Razak Hassan said that Mohamed Nawaz Maricar, 43, three foreigners and 21 locals had started their journey to Gunung Tahan at about 3.30 pm earlier that day.
