PETALING JAYA: Hannah Yeoh is showing no sympathy to Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin, who on Sunday was barred from speaking at a sports event at the Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan USJ 4 here.
On Monday, the Selangor Speaker explained how Opposition representatives were not allowed to attend events at schools and Muhyiddin was now getting a taste of his own medicine.
"Muhyiddin barred from speaking at an event in a school in USJ4? Welcome to the club.
"Pakatan Harapan elected reps have been highlighting this injustice since 2008," said Yeoh on Facebook Monday.
This was in response to the former deputy prime minister, who earlier posted that he had not been allowed to speak at an event he attended at USJ4 due to "certain parties".
Yeoh, who is also Subang Jaya assemblyman, said that she was still barred from attending school events and could not enter schools to carry out activities like dengue awareness programs.
"If I were to give the school a cheque, I have to do it outside the school gate.
"I hope they realise now how schools should never be used as a political tool and I will repeat again what we have been saying all along - set our schools free!" she said.
Muhyiddin had been a vocal critic of 1Malaysia Development Bhd (1MDB) and was later dropped from his post as deputy prime minister during a cabinet reshuffle in July last year.
Despite remaining Umno deputy president, Muhyiddin had been barred from speaking at the Umno general assembly last December.
