KUALA LUMPUR: Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak says he has presented suggestions to the Kedah Regency Council for a resolution to the state leadership crisis.

The Umno president also said any further developments, including if Kedah Mentri Besar Datuk Seri Mukhriz Mahathir's remained state Umno chief, would be announced in due course.

"I informed the Umno supreme council that I was granted an audience with the Regency Council Friday morning.

"I presented a suggestion on behalf of Umno, and further developments will be announced in due course," Najib told a media conference after chairing the party supreme council meeting here.

When asked if Mukhriz was still the state Umno chief for the time being, Najib said that an announcement would be made on the matter.

Najib also said it was untrue that he had submitted three names, which were subsequently rejected, to the Council as replacement Kedah Mentri Besar.
