Ram Singh, counsel for Mohamad Ali Ahmad, said none of the witnesses who testified against his client could link his actions to two charges he faces - waging war and being a member of a terrorist group.

Counsels for the other local men - Abdul Gani Zelika, for Abd Hadi Mawan, and Putli Noor Asikin Datu Gulam (Pabblo Alie) - contended the evidence against their clients was based on hearsay.
