Spot check on seafood price hike

Too much to shell out: Chin highlighting a price tag on a tray of big prawns showing RM50 per 500g at the Batu Lanchang market in Penang.

GEORGE TOWN: A market trader who was caught with a hefty price tag for the prawns he was selling was unable to escape the watchful eyes of the Domestic Trade, Cooperatives and Consumerism Ministry.

The trader, who had just returned from lunch to his unmanned stall at the Batu Lancang market was shocked to find the ministry’s enforcement personnel inspecting his stall yesterday. He denied selling big prawns at RM50 per 500gm as shown on the tag.
