Japanese man fleeced by woman in Kota Kinabalu

KOTA KINABALU: A 34-year-old Japanese body builder who picked up a woman in the city’s red light area of Kg Air ended up poorer by about RM2,000 when he got fleeced instead.

However Takashi Isihara’s lack of proficiency in English led him to assume that policemen were part of the gang who fleeced him at about 3pm on Tuesday. Takashi had posted his plight on his Facebook page. The posting went viral prompting Kota Kinabalu police chief Asst Comm M. Chandra to clarify it as a misunderstanding. ACP Chandra added that they had explained the matter to the Japanese Consul in Sabah who understood and thanked them for the professionalism and for solving the matter amicably.
