GEORGE TOWN: Residents in Chew Jetty are crying foul over the state government’s plan to hold a Cultural and Heritage Festival on the eighth day of the Chinese New Year, which clashes with their annual Thni Kong Seh (Jade Emperor’s Birthday) celebration.
More than 30 residents staged a protest in front of their houses in Weld Quay to show their anger against the proposed festival.
