From cybersex to rape in real life

TO protect young victims, a child cyber sexual crime investigation unit was set up last month under the Bukit Aman Sexual, Women and Child Investigation Division.

From 2010 up to September this year, 343 Internet-related rapes were reported. More than half of the victims were 15 and under. And nine of them were aged between 10 and 12. In the first nine months of 2015 alone, almost 130 reports were received, the division’s assistant principal director Asst Comm Ong Chin Lan says (see info-graphic Raped by My Internet Friend).
