KUALA LUMPUR: A former Fardu Ain and Religious Class (Kafa) teacher pleaded guilty to punching a salesman in the face at Low Yat Plaza.

On Tuesday, magistrate Saifulakmal Said sentenced Muhamad Faizal Mahmud Affandi, 27, to one month in jail for causing hurt to promoter Chea Wei Jian, 23, on Nov 12.

He was also jailed for another 14 days for disrupting public peace by causing a commotion.

Muhammad Faizal was charged under Section 323 of the Penal Code for causing injury and Section 14 of the Minor Offences Act for committing the offences at the ground floor of the building on Nov 12.

Based on the statement of facts, on that day, Muhamad Faizal had entered the shop where Chea was working and asked for his colleague.

Chea told him that his colleague had gone home.

He later walked to the escalator and Muhamad Faizal followed him. The accused then asked about his colleague’s working time.

When Chea was looking at his mobile phone to check on the duty roster, Muhammad Faizal punched his face and that was when the commotion started.

Asst Supt Nom Phot Prackdit prosecuted while the accused was unrepresented.
