Cops nab 112 during anti-online gambling raids

PASIR GUDANG: Police nabbed 112 individuals involved in illegal online gambling activities in a series of raids around Seri Alam here.

Seri Alam OCPD Asst Comm Abdul Samad Salleh said on Monday that a total of 11 workers and 101 gamblers were caught during the operations conducted between Dec 1 and Dec 12.

"The workers and gamblers detained, aged between 19 years and 63 years old, are being investigated under Section 4B(a) of the Common Gambling Act 1953," he said.

He told this to reporters during a press conference at the Seri Alam police district headquarters here on Monday.

ACP Abdul Samad also said that police managed to seized some RM8,509 in cash along with a total 246 laptops and four smart tablets used to carry out the online gambling activities.
