Ministry to reprint BM textbooks for vernacular schools

Different books: National and vernacular schools have been using different Bahasa Malaysia textbooks to cater to their syllabuses and exams.

PETALING JAYA: Bahasa Malaysia textbooks sent to vernacular schools will be recalled and new textbooks reprinted and sent out by next month following MCA’s objection that these schools should have different syllabuses and examinations from national schools.

“We will reprint new books and send them to SJKCs and SJKTs according to the latest Cabinet decision,” Deputy Education Minister P. Kamalanathan said in response to the decision not to standardise the Bahasa Malaysia textbook for vernacular and national schools.
