DAP lawmaker Tony Pua wants the Public Accounts Committees (PAC) findings on the National Feedlot Corporation (NFCorp) to be tabled in Parliament now that the court case has concluded.
The Petaling Jaya Utara MP said yesterday that the PAC report, which was compiled two years ago, should be presented for debate by Dewan Rakyat Speaker Tan Sri Pandikar Amin Mulia within the week as NFCorp chairman Datuk Seri Dr Mohamad Salleh Ismail had been acquitted of criminal breach of trust.
“There is no more pending court case, so we hope the Speaker will table the report on NFCorp to allow the necessary follow-up action to be taken,” said Pua, who is a member of the PAC.
The Attorney-General's Chambers had blocked the tabling of the report in Parliament in June last year, with then A-G Tan Sri Gani Patail citing sub judice in an ongoing criminal trial.
He had said the tabling of the report should be delayed until the court case involving Salleh was completed.
The Kuala Lumpur Sessions Court last week acquitted Salleh of two charges of criminal breach of trust involving RM49.7mil.
Salleh, who is the husband of former Cabinet Minister Datuk Seri Shahrizat Abdul Jalil, was charged last year with misappropriating NFCorp funds to purchase two luxury condominium units in One Menerung, Bangsar.
