Johor state assembly expresses condolences on demise of Kedah Raja Muda

NUSAJAYA: The Johor state assembly conveyed its condolences to the Kedah royal family on the passing of Raja Muda Kedah, Tunku Abdul Malik Almarhum Sultan Badlishah.

The condolences were expressed by Speaker Tan Sri Mohamad Aziz before the winding-up of the debate on the 2016 Johor State Budget at Bangunan Sultan Ismail, Kota Iskandar, resumed in the afternoon.

Mohamad also asked all the Johor assemblymen present to recite the Al-Fatihah, observe one minute of silence and pray that the soul of Tunku Abdul Malik be blessed.

Tunku Abdul Malik, 86, passed away at 1am today at Sultanah Bahiyah Hospital in Alor Setar, Kedah, due to old age.

His demise came more than two months after the passing of his consort Raja Puan Muda Kedah, Tunku Hajah Raudzah Almarhum Sultan Hisamuddin Alam Shah, on Sept 21. - Bernama
