Suhakam: Act on reports of Jahai children’s deaths


PETALING JAYA: The Human Rights Commission of Malaysia (Suhakam) is troubled by recent reports of deaths of orang asli children from the Jahai tribe in Sungai Kejar, Perak.

Its acting chairman Datuk Dr Khaw Lake Tee said in a statement yesterday that incidences such as these demonstrate clearly and reinforce the need for stronger and more effective action to ensure that the basic human rights of the orang asli were respected and protected.
