One killed, four seriously injured in Sungai Petani road crash

SUNGAI PETANI: A teenager was killed and five others injured, including four seriously, in a two-car collision in Taman Berangan near here Friday night.

S. Pavithran, 18, who was one of the passengers in a Proton Wira died on the spot in the 10pm crash.

The car driver, K. Saravanan, 33, and passenger, S. Kanesram, 21, sustained serious head injuries while the Honda City car driver, Lim Kok Kean, 26, and wife, Ong Siew Hua, 25, were also seriously injured.

Saravanan's front passenger, K. Saranrao, 18, sustained leg injuries.

Kuala Muda police chief, ACP Md Zukir Md Isa said the crash occurred when the Taman Berangan-bound Proton Wira skidded into the opposite lane and collided with the other car. - Bernama
