Najib: GLCs can channel funds as part of CSR

GOVERNMENT-linked companies do not have specific allocations for political parties or politicians, but they can channel funds to politicians and political parties as part of their corporate social responsibility.

Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak, in his written reply to Bandar Tun Razak MP Tan Sri Khalid Ibrahim, said: “But if there are requests for such financial contributions from the parties, then they will be treated the same way as contributions by non-governmental organisations, which is in accordance with the financial needs of the said organisation and the available balance for CSR at the time of the request.”
