IPOH: A student sustained cuts to the shoulder after being attacked with a knife by a classmate at a school in Hutan Melintang on Tuesday.

The two students had just finished sitting for their SPM English Paper 1 when the incident occurred at about 10am at the school compound.

Hilir Perak OCPD Asst Comm Mohd Shuhaily Mohd Zain said a  teacher from the school had seen a group of students gathered at the school compound.

He said when she went to investigate, she saw one of the students holding a knife, and pointing it at the victim.

“When she went closer, she saw the victim bleeding profusely on his right shoulder.

“The victim then ran towards the teacher for help,” he said.

ACP Mohd Shuhaily said initial investigations revealed that the students had had an argument before the incident took place.

He said one of the students had sought treatment for emotional disorder at a specialist clinic in Kuala Lumpur recently.
