Public holiday in Johor declared following AFC Cup win

JOHOR BARU: Sunday has been declared a public holiday for the state following Johor Darul Ta'zim's (JDT) win in the AFC Cup 2015 final.

The win makes the Southern Tigers the first Malaysian team to win the regional football competition in history.

State secretary Datuk Ismail Karim, who is also the Johor FA president, made the announcement via the Southern Tigers Facebook page on Saturday.

Thousands of fans thronged Dataran Bandaraya here to watch the final AFC Cup match against FC Istiklalol of Tajikistan.
