PETALING JAYA: Former world No. 1 Lee Chong Wei won the French Open title after defeating Taiwan’s Chou Tien-chen, 21-13, 21-18.
Following the match closely, Youth and Sports Minister Khairy Jamaluddin congratulated Chong Wei over his success.
He tweeted: “Syabas @LeeChongWei! Gave us a tense second game but a very good morale boost for you! Now to the derby."
Gerakan Youth chief Tan Keng Liang also tweeted, "Congrats Lee Chong Wei in winning the BWF World SuperSeries #FrenchOpen #MalaysiaBoleh."
Sunday's win was Chong Wei’s first Superseries crown in 16 months.
