THE increase in several tax reliefs in Budget 2016 will benefit the middle 40% income bracket (M40) the most, said tax experts.
“For those in the bottom 40% whose income is below RM3,000, they will not get much effect from the tax reliefs as they do not really pay much taxes,” said Lavindran Sandragasu of PwC Taxation Services Malaysia.
